Our Qualifications


Tom DuffThomas Duff – Branch Manager, RJFS
Tom began working with his father in 1992 and continued to enjoy this relationship as co-branch manager in the Brewer office until 2010.  Now in 2011 as Branch Manager, Tom will continue to bring a strong feeling of continued service to his current and future clients. Tom listens and evaluates our client’s life’s priorities, assesses their risk levels, sets financial goals and customizes strategies designed to help them reach their goals. Tom started as a file clerk, moving on to data input, and is now one  of the business's registered principals. In 2003, Tom became the Branch Manager and financial advisor for a second office in Millinocket. Tom and his wife, Michelle, live in Brewer with their two children.  His passions are his family, the outdoors, and Michelle’s newfound love for horses. Tom is currently a district chairman and treasurer for Maine chapters of Ducks Unlimited and participates in the Katahdin Region Rotary.
 
 
Joel West – Financial Advisor, RJFS
 
Joel joined the Duff and Associates family in 2003. During this time he has enjoyed developing relationships with both new and existing clients. Joel is as passionate about the clients we serve as he is about investing and stock markets. You will frequently hear him tell people "the two most important things in investing are that you understand your investments, and that you are comfortable with them". If you find that you are one of the people that would like to become more comfortable with your
investment path, he may be just the guide your looking for in the process.
 
In his free time, if he is not in his garden or tending to his honey bees, you will probably find him in the woods and waters of Maine, enjoying nature and the great outdoors, while doing things such as hunting and fishing with family and friends.
 

Gayle PierceGayle Pierce – Administrative Assistant, RJFS

Gayle joined the Duff and Associates family in 1999. She is a key part of the behind the scenes operation that keeps Duff and Associates running smoothly.  Some of her client care responsibilities include such things as managing and updating client files, data entry and maintenance, as well as answering the phones, and assisting clients with various services.

 Gayle is married with three grown children and a son-in-law. On January 31st, 2007 she was blessed with her first grandchild, a beautiful baby girl named Isabella. Gayle is devoted to her family, and in her free time is most likely to be found with them.
 
 

Sarah Huff - Administrative Assistant, RJFS

Sarah joined the Duff and Associates family in March of 2005.  She retired from the US Naval Reserves in 2004, and moved to Maine with her husband and three children.  Sarah is usually the first contact you will have with our firm, either in the front office, or on the phone.  Sarah helps to keep the office running, by making appointments, keeping records up to date, and assisting with various client services.

In her off time, Sarah enjoys reading, various sewing crafts, and spending time with her family.
